Pre-clinical Engineer

MaaT Pharma is an Oncology Microbiome clinical stage company developing biotherapeutics to treat high unmet medical needs. We are among the most advanced Microbiome companies with two programs in clinical development. Key responsibilities

We are seeking our enthusiastic and innovative pre-clinical engineer with a focus on non-clinical studies to play a leading role in our early clinical development team directly reporting to the principal scientist. Acting as an expert in your assigned areas, working independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, pre-clinical engineer will serve as a close partner to subcontractors, coordinating the activity of external research teams, including budget management for pre-clinical studies.
The pre-clinical engineer will be a key contributor in building integrated development plans and operational support to existing and new development activities. This position is based in lyon.

Description of key responsibilities

Feces collection management- Carrying out subcontractor management- Drafting of scientific protocols and amendments- Carrying out the operations (logistic, samples process and storage) of feces collection- Study of technological solutions to reduce project risks- Samples processing for R&D development
Management of cross-functional experimental animal models in IO- Coordination of feasibility studies to set up mice models in Immuno-Oncology- Carrying out studies management with subcontractors- Organization and running of intra and inter-service meetings

Required skills and background

  • BAC +5 to BAC +8 in management of preclinical research Expertise in animal experimentation (IO)
  • General engineering schools and scientific specialization in immuno-oncology and/or pre-clinical sample collection
  • Fluent english
  • Fluent French
  • Know how to analyze and synthesize data
  • Know how to interpret and use the results of in vitro and in vivo experiments
  • Knowing how to anticipate, identify and diagnose dysfunctions and / or anomalies and propose relevant solutions
  • Being able to comply with rigor with procedures defined to secure the environment of non-clinical development
  • Knowledge in good laboratory practices and familiarity with GLP, GCP, ICH, EMA and FDA regulations
  • Translate results and conclusion in report
  • Is knowledgeable in animal experimentation

Preferrable skills

  • Knowledge of pharma pre-clinical R&D environment
  • Knowledge in biotechnology, ideally microbiology or microbiota
  • Knowledge in in vitro and in vivo immunology models
